Celebrating Pride Month in Lenexa

Pride Month is about honoring the strength, resilience, and joy of the LGBTQ+ community. It’s a celebration of visibility, acceptance, and the ongoing fight for equality—a fight that continues today. I’m grateful to live openly because of the people who came before me, and I’m just as committed to making sure others can do the same. From my time in oSTEM @ KU to leading my company’s Pride ERG, I’ve seen firsthand how advocacy and community make a difference, and I know there’s still work to do.

More than anything, Pride is about finding your people—your chosen family, the place where you truly belong. Lenexa is that place for me. Nearly six years ago, Grant and I found a community that welcomed us with open arms, a city that cares deeply about its people, its families, and its future. That’s what makes Lenexa special: we show up for each other, we create spaces where everyone is valued, and we stand together for what’s right.

This Pride Month, let’s celebrate that spirit. Whether you’re marching, celebrating, or simply living authentically, know that you are seen, supported, and appreciated.

Happy Pride!
